Lots of sororities do it. KD just got caught, and happened to not give a bid to a girl who was invited.

Who do they invite? ALL the girls going to pref or just to their top 1/3 of their list? I've heard about secret parties but not during the actual week of recruitment.

Ok- say I'm an alpha phi. I live with 4 other alpha phis. We invite our pledge sisters over to come hang out the night before bid day. We text our pnm bffs who we know put chose alpha phi and invite them over to come hang with us and get to know all their new pledge sisters.
It's really not a big deal, especially if you've been super close to that pnm forever, but it's breaking the rules and like we learned this year, it's possible that one of those girls actually won't get a bid from your sorority even though she put that sorority first and you THINK/HOPE she's on your sororities first bid list.
Sometimes actives can be very wrong. But it's not like a public thing, because obviously no one knows who's in what pledge class until the bidlist comes out.

It is a big deal because your getting a girl's hopes up when in reality you don't 100% know she's on the bid list. There's a reason why there are rules like that, to keep girls from getting hurt.
