dropped bc of mom?
by: PnmI'm oos but I'm a legacy. I feel like my mom has been very pushy when it comes to contacting people involved in that sorority. It's gotten embarrassing. I know I'm probably not the only one with a mom like this but could that have an effect on me being dropped by them because I really do like that sorority.

Tell your mom to back off and that you're embarrassed. Maybe ask her to apologize because that can really hurt you. Helicopter moms/alums are not cool and I know my house does not welcome them. It's great that your mom wants to be involved, but her college days are over and it's time for you to make your own decisions/way in the world. It can hurt you if she has been contacting the recruitment chair/exec of the sorority. I know we had a legacy who was just too pushy and annoying (messaging girls on facebook all the times, posting pictures of herself in front of our house on social media, assuming she was going to be a member of our house before she even went through recruitment) and we ended up dropping her.
