chance at aopi
by: PnmI loved aopi so much at spring teas and or was a house that made me feel so at home. I'm really worried though because I have below a 3.0. Do I have any chance at aopi?

During Rush every sorority is given everyone's numbers. We know how many girls are going through pref at which houses and Panhellenic sets the numbers for how many girls have to be dropped. Old row drops nearly 1000 girls the first day. The sororities with the lowest return rates are the Lower ones.

Honestly, you need to prepare yourself for heavy cuts. It's great that you like AOPi, but I would not get my heart set on any house because it will just hurt you in the end. If you have a 3.0, you should be prepared to be cut by my most every house.
The thing is if you can't make a 3.0 in high school the chances of you making a 3.0 or above in college are slim to none. A huge part of being in a sorority is scholarship and grades, and if you can't show that you're going to meet that requirement, we aren't interested. I'm sorry, but that's the cold, hard truth. Grades are literally the only way that sororities are official ranked so making a good house GPA is a huge deal. It takes 4 girls with good gpas to make up for one girl with a bad gpa. Why would we willingly take a girl who we know probably won't do well?
Maybe you should reconsider going through recruitment this semester. Going through with under a 3.0 is just setting yourself up for heartbreak, and I don't wish that on anyone. Think about waiting till next fall when you have a better grasp on how college is going to be--work on getting really good grades and getting involved on campus.

they were my number one after first round and they cut me. and i mean i'd say i'm pretty and i had a 3.5 gpa in high school, i'm still not sure why the dropped me haha. it depends if the girl likes you, but i'd say they're a little picky. just be super outgoing and friendly, that's what their house is all about! good luck
