Sorority girls: am I right that wearing Lilly is kind of frowned upon? Is this just for recruitment, or a year-round thing? Can somebody tell me why?
I only wear Lilly occasionally, but I really love the brightness of the prints and such...

I don't really know what to tell you. Everyone says that you shouldn't wear it since everyone else will be, but seriously, if everyone else is then people obviously like it. Girls are wearing it in the sorority's tumblrs and on their social medias. If you wear it occasionally I think it's fine. It's really only frowned upon since it's so cliche nowadays, which obviously means that it's popular.

If you like Lilly, wear it. It's better to wear something you like than wear something just to make yourself fit in. However, don't wear it just because you think it'll make you fit in.
Honestly, I don't suggest wearing it for recruitment. There are only like 10 styles of Lilly dresses/patterns each season and half your rho chi will end up wearing the same style/dress, which makes you not stand out at all. Sometimes us actives don't remember a lot about pnms after a long day of parties and it's easier to remember stuff about you if you're wearing something unique--not the 5th girl we've talked to that day wearing Lilly. If anything, wear Lilly shorts for philanthropy day if you're really set on wearing Lilly, but just remember Lilly isn't appropriate for every situation. I think a lot of Lilly lovers forget that because they think 'hey, it's nice and kinda expensive so I'm just going to wear Lilly for every occasion that calls for some type of dress.' I don't think you can go wrong with a classic, solid colored dress with nice accessories, but you can go wrong with Lilly.
