why so much hate?

Can somebody explain why there is always so much hate around Greek life?
Girls in sororities are supposed to be sisters, not hating on all the girls who aren't their sisters, right? I mean I get friendly competition, but all this talk online and horrible rivalry seems unnecessary... right? Or am I just naive...?

The actives or alums on here keep pushing some tier ranking system based on "tradition." Like everyone has to know their place. High school stuff. But I like the spirit of the pnms on here. most seem like they have verve and think for themselves.
But I have only seen hate directed at one sorority. Don't know why such a focus. :()
