I'm sort've nervous going into rush. I went to amazing houses during spring teas and I was very open minded at all of them. I could see myself fitting in with an Old Row house (I also have a lot of friends in those houses) but I am OOS and I don't want to be in a chapter with girls who already know each other.

Ask during rush! So if a girl from Washington is rushing you ask if she knew a lot of girls before she pledged abc sorority!

It looks like a little bit of a thing to pay attention to, for sure. Have some of the same concerns. want a house that has both in-state and OOS in numbers but where the in-state really truly branch out. There is a post somewhere on here from a senior from Virginia that sort of worried me re old row and real life after rush for an OOS.

Honestly I don't think this is an issue. I am in a top old row house, and about half of my pledge class is out of state girls. I think the only house this is an issue for is KD and kappa. Yes my sorority does have many girls from Birmingham, and the mobile area, but everyone is friends with everyone. Who comes to college NOT wanting to branch out and meet new people? Honestly I don't know many people who would do that. Everyone wants to start new, and you can do that in every single sorority here. I am friends with girls from every state, not just my own!! Don't let this be a factor in choosing a house.
