How do some of you girls pay for your dues? Is it through work, parents, payment plans/work, loans?????

I have no idea how my dad can afford my Greek life, but I know it's very tough. He doesn't use loans or anything like that, and there's no way i could work to pay it. But somehow he pays it and it's incredibly stressful for him. My monthly sorority bill is more than my mom makes a month as a teacher....

Might want to look in the mirror and ask yourself if being in a sorority is worth more to you than your parents financial stability and distress

Yep it's extremely worth it. My mom was in a sorority, and I'm extremely involved in my sorority. If I wasn't involved, then heck no it wouldn't be worth it!

My dad pays for it. Honestly if you don't have a parent that will pay for it, Greek life isn't for you. It's extremely expensive. I don't know any student working who could afford the $3500+ each semester.

Part of dues are instead of full meal plan so some of that money is spent anyway. Anyhow, I have seen girls selling cosmetics (roden) and stuff like that to pay dues. Good idea actually. I think there is a theta or dz doing that.

I paid for sorority dues by working in the summers and at Christmas. I earned plenty for dues related fees. My parents paid for university. I lived in the house -- my parents paid for room/board which was a good deal in the house.

I would really advise against taking out loans. It's just not a good idea in the long run, especially if they're going to be in your name. Having $32,000+ in debt the moment you graduate college is just too much stress for anyone in my opinion, if it's something that isn't necessary. Don't get me wrong, I love my sorority, but if you can't pay for it yourself or your parents won't pay for it, I wouldn't sacrifice your financial future just to be in a sorority. Maybe work During your freshman year and save up and then rush as a sophomore.
