What is the real "safe zone" for incoming freshmen GPA when it comes to the houses that are top 3 in grades?

3.5 minimum unless you are really special in other ways. your college gpa is generally lower than your hs gpa so they don't want to take a 3.3 knowing that most likely that girl will get less then a 3.3 in college

Yes typically a 3.5. BUTTTT if you're awesome and involved and super social and super cute, they will take a 3.1! You just have to be spectacular

For the top three, I would say it is 3.75 for "fliers" and 3.25 for "connected". Unless you are a known commodity, you need to contribute upward points to the house average. So, go look at their house average over the past few years and that will set a level that a non-connected girl will need to beat.

Then again, I speak from a few years ago. Not past four. So assume things have not changed dramatically.

I agree with @alum in general. A 3.9 with a 31 is very strong and you should be in good shape to go far in the process with several strong houses -- so long as your social and other attributes show through during Recruitment. Don't count on your resume. Think of it this way -- you want to go where they want you and where you fit. Once they see that 3.9 and a 31, it could seal the deal with some of the more competitive houses.

Are you rushing at Ole Miss as well? Because you posted on their greek rank too asking about a 3.9 and 31 ACT with no connections, and I don't think that's a coincidence....
