I gave out my rec packets at a panhellenic association day in my area and I was wondering if there's a way we can find out from a chapter at Bama if we have a rec for them. Almost all of my recs are from people I actually know, I'm just worried that I may be missing a few because I don't know if the alumnae from my area wrote me a rec. I know there are a lot of pnms so it may not be possible but I was just curious.

I would honestly try your best to reach out to those women who did write your recs! And if the address was correct, (for some houses I know there were multiple), but just ask if they sent it in, and hopefully it gets there!

I would suggest that you send a thank you note to each lady who was writing you a rec. It would be a reminder to those ladies if they haven't sent it in yet, and if they have already sent it would just be a nicety that we are supposed to observe. Don't contact the chapters to see if they received it yet. And don't contact the alums and ask them if they have written you rec. yet. Not a good move.

You SHOULD have written a thank you note and given a small gift to everyone who wrote you a Rec. I have a list of everyone who wrote mine and saved it for my younger sister.

When I did my recs, I remember asking the alumnae writing mine if they had received my packet, just to make sure they got it. Normally I got a response of I'm working on it! Or I've sent it in for you!

That is appropriate -- confirming they received your packet. Plus a hand written note to thank them. Gifts are not needed.
