by: pnm

Hi y'all.
I'm a pnm planning my schedule and just want to make sure I don't overlap things. Typically when are sororities' chapter meetings?

Wednesday night typically. Some houses are different though if they live in a swing house that can't fit everyone for chapter. You can change your schedule when you get here

They usually last around an hour in the 6-8 oclock range depending on the chapter

My advice would to not have any 5-6:15 classes on Monday Wednesday, I had that my first semester and ever week had to run from class to my house to make it on time.

Don't new members have their own meetings until they are initiated? Or do they go to the normal chapter meetings all year?? Like are Wednesday's usually when the new member chapter meetings are or when the normal chapter meetings are?? I'm a little confused!!

Normal chapter meetings are usually on Wednesdays. Your new member meetings are often on sundays.

You still go to them every week regardless if you're initiated. You just don't learn ritual until you're initiated

So you'll have 2 meetings? A new member meeting and the normal meeting with the whole chapter?

Even if you do accidentally schedule a class during your sorority's chapter time, you will normally be excused from chapter as long as you send in documentation. But I would suggest as a freshman, you need to go to chapter unless you cannot rearrange your schedule. You miss out on a lot of information if you don't go. My sorority posts chapter notes on our Facebook page, but normally not until later in the week.
