Unweighted. If you're smart enough to take challanging classes, you should be doing it. A 4.0 filled with easy classes is not as meaningful as a 3.6 with AP classes. If you demonstrate that you can handle college level classes you are a more attractive candidate.

Girls that aren't as able to take tougher classes may struggle with their lower level classes but be really hard workers to keep a 3.6 or 3.8. We know that most will continue that work ethic in college.

What we don't like to see is someone who took blow off classes their senior year and made a 4.0. That is the girl who is most likely to not make grades in college.

It's the exact same for a sophomore

Upperclassmen - there's a little more leeway, because you've proven you can pass college classes. But just a little...2.9 more acceptable. Houses would rather see higher, though.

Are you kidding? If a house is going to take an upperclassman she better be smart. Why would you ever take a sophomore That's a grade risk? Literally that is proving that as their classes get harder their gpa might get even worse.

Well I was a sophomore with a 2.9 when I went through recruitment. And I had plenty of options and ended up in my top choice. I had a rough semester second semester of college (news flash--college is a lot harder than high school, and thanks to all the AP and dual enrollment classes I did in high school, I was already in my major classes), but I had a hard major and ever since joining my sorority, I've been on the Dean's list and been a contributing member. Just because a girl is an upperclassmen doesn't mean she isn't deserving of a spot and won't be a great member. Calm your t i t s.
