First I will admit something. I am a dad checking out this page after somebody sent me the link after telling me about it. I am from Texas and my daughter is open to all the houses. They have the recs all set and the like. After reading some of this it is clear that y'all have two camps for ranking. There are those that rank based on experienced demand. Who are most sought after. Then there is another camp what is more basing on actual current or recent performance. Theses two may be correlated for the top houses but on the ones you debate about there is good competition. I personally tend to root for the underdog but I will be all in to help anyway I can with whatever house she picks. Looks like she can't go wrong at 2/3 of them. As a dad with live ammo and no interest in seeing a scholarship get lost,I don't love the houses with the looser reps and low grades.

I'll add to this for the Texas dad. A house average above a 3.0 is still nothing to sneeze at. Most of the houses are split by tenths of points on the grade report, so even middle of the pack is still strong. Good luck to your daughter during rush. I hope she has a happy experience and finds a great home!

Good for you for supporting your daughter in anything she does! I agree with you about the looser rep, but I will say something about the grades- I personally am very high achieving and have a large scholarship, but ended up in a house on the lower end of the grade report. It bothered me (and my parents!) at first, but then I realized that my house's GPA wasn't going to affect mine, and that a house needs smart, dedicated girls to raise their GPA in the first place. I try to help my sisters who struggle as best as I can, and on the off chance that your daughter has a situation like mine, I urge you to tell her to stick with it and do the same :)
