Alpha Phi and DZ can switch. AOII should be moved down. ZTA is only up there because of their looks.... their grades, sisterhood, and philanthropy aren't good, so they should be moved down too.

Alpha phi is definitely better than dz….and ZTA at least has a good philanthropy.

with the exception of the attack on XO in this ranking, it is just a repeat of the old row/new row drivel.

What about the rumors of XO losing their house?

Why were PM grades low? They used to be 2nd or 3rd always.

^^^ you're right, kkg has improved with HC. I do recall HC 2012 when their lawn decoration was a pix art image and literally looked like a 5 year old did it. But they are always drunk in the dance competition

If academics and open-ness matter at all, and we were to have a true ordering, KD and probably KKG have to move down. It would be refreshing to have a true rank and open discussion. KD and Kappa may have more "tradition" and some strong social ties to good frats but on the whole they should not be a level above houses like Pi Phi or ADPi. Weighing the different attributes they really are same level (just different socially and traditionally) than ADPi and Pi Phi. Kappa and KD have to pay a price for not being inclusive, having internal cliques, and weak academics given what they have to work with. At some point the excellent OOS has to factor in to collapse the old/new presumed pecking order.

womp womp womp. kappa and kd will always be apart of the top no matter how much you whine. get used to it. they have the southern tradition and this is the university of alabama, where tradition means a lot. there's more to a sorority than who has the highest gpa. like i'm tired of seeing that??? so basically all the girls could hate each other but as long as they have a great gpa overall they can be top??? like no. from what i've seen both have great sisterhoods and both have a damn good time together. i feel like this ranking stuff is like revenge of the nerds. you were a nobody in high school and now that you get recognized for your grades you hate the girls who have a good time with their sisters and the guys love. move on.

This little debate on old/new row is interesting. PNMs just need to understand, and I am sure most do, that the "rankings" stuff is for the birds and they need to find their family/a home away from home. Maybe this is old fashioned but it is true. The is tremendous growth at UA's greek system because it is great for the educational experience and is attacting out of state girls and girls from in-state that would have gone to places like Vandy, W&L, Tulane, etc. in the past, but with the scholarships and the improved quality of the institution, they are going to UA. If these kids are attracted to the new row houses or if they have no choice but to learn to love the new row houses, then good for the new row houses, I say.

One last thing. One of the posts here says something to the effect that Kappa and KD have to "pay a price" for being lazy in recruitment and lazy in academics (but not lazy in social). I have to say that it is obvious that they have paid that price even in the ranking that started this thread. In the day (like 20 years ago), they were at the tip top, not at the lower end of old row. I have seen nothing on this board that puts them at that level.

Seriously? First off, you don't even know if it was a KD or Kappa. Second, PNMS if you really want to go off this board and look at people's true character, then you NEED to be going ZTA, A Phi, Kappa, KD. These houses literally are always torn apart on this board.

Kappa and KD - They have tradition. Yes, they have slipped with grades but they are still VERY desired no matter what. It's just not going to change. They also have very strong social ties to great fraternities (not that that determines the greatness of a sorority, but it can a matter on how the jealousy stems). Other houses cannot stand this. They don't understand how they have to work super hard, whereas KD and Kappa can be lazy, yet still be a PNM favorite and Fraternity favorite.

ZTA and A Phi - The girls don't have good grades, we get it. They're more loose and very, very pretty. Again, horrible grades but still very desired. None of them may have a chance at Alpha Chi and DDD, but some of the girls in these two sororities could be going ADPi, Pi Phi, and AOPi, but rather choose ZTA and A Phi. Again, houses hate this. There's also houses like DG who are really trying to get on the rise and maybe could use some of the girls that go A Phi/ZTA.

So, PNMs, think about who is on this board tearing up these houses. These "top GPA" girls are extremely judgmental, uptight, and competitive. Do you really want that? Imagine the pressure of being judged from them or god forbid, get a C. Jesus Christ.

The person defend KD and Kappa, etc., above, is right about the general mind set around campus. It may or may not be politically corrrect to admit it, but she is saying what we all generally can observe....

So go Kappa. Go KD.
Go ADPi. Go AOPi.
Its all good. All the houses are good.

this is so stupid. the kappa and kds i have met are so nice and fun. there is a HUGE misconception of them. i think you're the one still in high school. judging and hating on the ones people love and get a lot of attention. it's really pathetic and unnecessary.

more like the true colors of axo and agd. y'all have really gone over your head because you have good grades and "try" and you're now "top". if you're the best, you don't need to put down others. you choose not to have as good of a time as kd and kappa. it's not their fault and their not bothering you. if you have so much pride in your high gpa and "classiness", then keep doing your thing.

I have to second your agreement with @persondefendingKDandKappa (lol). Everyone's not going to admit it, but it's the truth. Anywho, we should be spreading pan love! Shame on you girls who are "top" that are so insecure of the other houses. The KD and Kappas are probably out right now having a good time not even thinking about this.

I also don't think KD/Kappa should be continuously paired together. I think Kappa actually had a decent PC 14, with really pretty and social girls. KD on the other hand really just had a ranfom mix. They also seem to have a lot more in house cliques and drama whereas Kappas seem to not gaf and just do their thing. I mean don't get me wrong they both are rich, southern, party girls that hang out with DKE and SAE that were once at the top of the top, but KD has sadly fallen the hardest and it's not fair to put them together in terms of falling. KD didn't even try on their homecoming lawn decoration, its likr they've given up and just don't care at this point.

I have to disagree- KD and kappa girls are interchangeable- in grades,social and events. I think they choose from the same type of girls really. I don't think Kappa has kept the kappa name any "stronger" than KD truthfully. I hear just as much hate as on KD. just sayin
