local boutiques for rushing?
by: Pnm
This questions is for both actives and pnms.
So I don't have many boutiques around me with cute dresses for rush besides francesca's but I know a ton of people will be getting their dresses from there. I've been looking online and getting a few potential dresses from reddressboutique but I was wondering, would it be risky to get rush dresses from boutiques in tuscaloosa? I was thinking of buying some during my orientation, from places like Ellie's and The Market House, but i'm worried that i'll have the same dresses as a lot of actives!
Also, is it okay to wear white dresses at all or no?

Wearing the same dress as someone else isn't a big deal. So if you feel comfortable and good about yourself then go for it. That being said some good online places would be ASOS, Lord&Taylor, Urban Outfitters, etc. Really the most important thing is to show off your personality and be comfortable. Feeling your best will help you to do your best! So don't worry about what other people are doing as long as you feel confident.

I'm a PNM so I'm not entirely sure but I've heard in midtown village in Tuscaloosa there are a few cute stores with potential cute dresses like bevello. Not sure how prices are though. Also if you live close to the Birmingham area there is a rush workshop sorta thing strictly for rush outfits at the summit... Good luck

Spaghetti straps and small back cutouts are fine. I'd avoid lots of clevage and something that is entirely backless or cut low in the back. People know it is going to be hot, and racerbacks are obviously in style. Plenty of people wear strapless dresses, sorority girls might be conservative, but they aren't living on Mormon compounds.

I have never heard this at alabama so I'm not sure where you are getting this information from about wearing white dresses for pref. At UGA and some other SEC schools, you have to wear white, but there is no color requirement. But honestly, most people wear black or a darker color because it is more formal.
