sophomore rush
by: Sophomore
Hi! I'm a rising sophomore and I'm still on the fence about if I should go through recruitment or not this fall (I know it's kind of late). I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on what the whole process would be like for me as a sophomore. Would it be more difficult for me to get a bid because I'm older (I meet the GPA standards)? And, if I did get a bid, as a new member, would I still eat all my meals at the house? I'm living off campus in an apartment so it would be more of a hassle for me to go back and forth. Are recs really so important? Lastly, would it be weird for me to be in a pledge class with all younger girls?
I wish I would have done this last year, but I didn't really understand what being in a sorority actually meant until I saw everyone on campus. It seems like a great way to get involved and meet more people! Any other advice would be great! Thanks y'all!!

if you are interested in joining a sorority you definitely should rush! Being a rising sophomore wouldn't hurt your chances because most sororities have sophomore quotas, meaning they actually really want sophomores for the freshman pledge class! recs are very important. Try to get one for all the sororities you can. As a sophomore rushing, recs can really help you. Yes, you would be able to eat your meals at the house but you definitely don't have to eat every meal there! The houses are located near the quad, so it will probably be convenient for you to eat there a good bit of the time.
