I'm not sure why that post got such intense comments. Yes, unfortunately, appearances can be a factor, but it definitely is not the only one, at least for most houses. ((I've heard a rumor that ZTA was the only chapter to not give a bid to an overweight girl last fall, but this is just something I have heard and have no idea if this is true, so if someone knows better than me could you please reply and let me know?)) ADPi and Pi Phi are both new row houses, so stereotypically speaking they do not place as much emphasis on appearances as other houses. Realistically speaking, your resume, connections, and how well you click with the girls you talk to are much more important to ALL the chapters!

I don't know how helpful this is, but if you suspect you are being cut for your weight during rush, try to see it as a positive thing. People who will judge you so unfairly are not people you want to be around, regardless of how you look. If they won't take the time to get to know you, you're so much better off without them and you'll go on to find a sisterhood who loves you for who you are, not what you look like :)

you're fine! Im in a sorority that people consider "top tier" and we would never drop a girl based on her weight alone. If you're cool af no one is going to care if you aren't stick thin. Just be yourself and have fun! if someone cuts you based on appearance alone then that house has issues, not you. there are girls of all shapes and sizes in every house. That being said, do dress for your body type. Look your best self. For example, no one is going to judge if you're not super thin, but if you aren't then please don't be that girl wearing a body con dress (just an example. obviously NO ONE SHOULD WEAR BODY CON TO RUSH)
