rush

So I'll be transferring in as a sophmore, and know absolutely nothing. I went through rush at my old school, but it was nowhere near as formal as it is down here I'm sure. So exactly what is the rush process like here for fraternities?

Very casual. Fraternity rush is 180 degrees different from sorority rush.
Pledging is done during the summer. Contact the houses, tell them you're interested. They'll invite you to parties over the summer. Go, meet some guys, hang out. They may or may not offer you a bid.
There's a "formal rush," but most fraternities have their pledge classes by then.
