is it possible to have an on-campus job and still be in a fraternity/rush?

Very possible! You just need to make sure it's a flexible company. Your first semester will be the busiest and craziest semester of your life. I don't recommend working first semester... Second semester is fine!

Its been two years since I pledged one of the top 10 fraternities and I had a pledge brother who worked at a restaurant get an ultimatum to either quit his job or drop from pledgeship. If you're in a good fraternity, you won't have time for a job with all the pledge duties, homework, and pledge parties/swaps/date parties you'll be attending.
