by: Future TideI am about to be a senior in high school in the fall and hopefull will attend Alabama in the following year. When should I start contacting sororities and I am from up north and want to make friends so I feel sororities are the best way but I am nervous because I know the competition is tough.

You should not be contacting sororities yourself. That is very forward and could come off as rude and pushy, in my opinion. Come visit in the fall and set up a tour with Greek affairs and come for Panhellenic preview day. You shouldn't have any problems as long as you are prepared and put your best foot forward. All these people always make it seem like a big deal to be from out of state but at this point, UA is over 50% out of state so it isn't as big of a deal as it used to be.
