Stop asking if being from the north will hurt you getting a bid. Obviously it will be harder for you because you probably don't have as many connections as people from alabama. However, If you have a good GPA and aren't a total dud personality wise and aren't a reputation risk you will be fine. There are people from the north in basically every fraternity and sorority.
