sorority comments

when does alpha phi's bidding and what not take place? i didnt do formal recruitment but im looking at alpha phi... i want to work hard this year and join a fun group of girls...but i also want to have fun and party! anyone know what alphi phis social status might be?

Not sure how Alpha Phi will do. They haven't been on campus since the 1950s and their closest chapters are in Texas and N.C. Not much Southern prestige AT ALL.

Alpha Phi may not be a "Traditional" southern sorority but they means less and less. From what I hear they already have over 200 girls signed up for interviews. Also remember they are looking for girls from Fresh - Senior so this will be an opportunity for some great girls to get into a sorority and take on leadership roles right out of the gate. Plus being part of the founding class will be something special now and in the years to come.

At latest count Alpha Phi has over 300 girls signed up for interviews. Sounds like they are off to a great start. Also thanks for Alpha Phi links that you posted below those were very informative.

I hear over 400 girls attended the first Alpha Phi open house. Think everyone will have to admit that shows the Greek system at Bama is extremely strong and was definately ready for a new sorority.

i went to one of the open house sessions but i have a question...there was the open house, and an event on wednesday, but everything after that is invitation only...how will alpha phi familiarize themselves with over 400 girls and choose who to invite back?? it doesnt have to be specifically about alpha phi...you can answer about the greek system as a whole

I would assume that they would have covered that at your open house. If not I do know they are requiring that Perspective New Members (PNMs) get "RECS", did they talk about that. If so maybe they are going to interview all PNMs that have Recs or maybe you filled out an information form at the open house and they will call you back for an interview. Obviously I am somewhat guessing so you might want to try and contact someone at Alpha Phi.

I just checked the Bama Alpha Phi website and there is an online registration form they want PNMs to fill out. I assume they are setting up interviews based on their review of these forms.
