d phi e got rejected to come on campus so there are no colonizations on the books. alpha delta chi is a christian sorority so you must be Christian to join and you have to take vows of celibacy to join. Sigma delta tau got a house on campus again and they are improving big time from the funk that they have been in for the past few years

The old row sororities are the oldest sororities at Alabama. It shouldn't matter which ones are old or new row.
If you come into recruitment having your heart set on any particular house but shun other houses, just know word DOES get around on attitude and behavior.
There is no opinion on old/new row, because it's fact.
Some sororities have been around here longer than others but that doesn't make new row sororities any less important or amazing
Don't get discouraged either, but if you have no idea what recruitment is like here, it's going to be tough.
And if we're being honest, yes, lots of out of state girls join sororities, but most of them are from the south and have strong ties back here. That doesn't mean yankees don't receive bids, but most yankees come into recruitment not understand how competitive it is.
Just know it's competitive. Your recommendation letter should have been sent and if you registered in time you'll receive Greekchic, which is awesome by the way ;)

blah, stupid double post
Another thing, DON'T give away personal information on here. I don't meant to sound rude, but you aren't special. Most girls have high gpa's like you and are involved in school. If you come here with the "i'm special and unique" attitude you're gonna be shocked by how many other girls are just as "special."
I'm not saying posting information on here will hurt your chances, but it could look bad to other sororities(can't speak for them) if you're a pnm and hanging out on a "gossip" site essentially
It's one thing to be an active and hanging out here; it's another to be a pnm and expressing your doubt on here. SO many girls come here and have absolutely no doubt.
Just quit worrying and enjoy the rest of your summer.
I'm not the only active on here, so others have the potential to figure out who you are

There's no big deal really. Tiering and labeling are immature and stupid.
To alot of people, old row fraternities/sororities=top houses
The reality is that every single house here is amazing though.
In all honesty, pnms shouldn't worry about old row/new row, especially if they weren't familiar with the terms before. If they aren't familiar from before, chances are they may not grasp just how competitive it is and they shouldn't focus on receiving a bid from any particular house.
YES many oos girls have a successful rush, I'm a prime example. And yes, I'm in one the "old row" houses, but I'm also from the south and I've been on the pnm side and active side during rush.
Just have fun and don't worry about old row vs new row or having to receive a bid from a specific house or you'll be in for a surprise and disappointment
