besides everybody in the world knows that old row means national sororities you want to be in a national sorority not a local sorority and new row sororities haven't been around as long as old row sororities thus haven't established the kind of longstanding roots and sisterhoods that new row has. sorry.

Cutie your facts are way off. You claim girls want to join a "National Sorority" and the Old Row are older nationaly and more thus more wide spread. Well here are the facts:

Average National Founding Date of the seven old row sororities is 1884 and for the 8 new row sororities it is 1877.

Average number of chapters old row = 133 and new row = 136.

So "Cutie" by your own criteria new row would be better. Bottom line though people can try to do what ever they want to justify why their sorority is better or old is better than new but in the end they are all equally fantastic.

You both sound rather childish trying to put others down in a futile attempt to make yourself feel better.

I put no one down. I think when a sorority was founded or how many chapters they have has very little relevance on how good a chapter is at Bama. I only put the stats out there to show Cutie she was using incorrect information. Also at the end of my post you should notice I said all sororities at Bama are equally fantastic. How in the world is that putting someone down.

My main point is don't believe all the crap you hear on this website about specific sororities or old vs. new row. Almost everything you hear is false or a half truth. If you are going thru Rush go in with a completly open mind and make your choice on where you think you fit in the best. The last thing you want to do is listen to people on this web site or people from you hometown who want you to pledge the hometown favorite regardless of if that is where you belong.

READ FIRST: This may take more than one post, but here's the official line on which chapter arrived when at Bama. And to anyone who thought I was dissing Old or New, I'd just urge you to understand that if you take a few minutes to look at the list that will follow, you will quickly see that in trying to sound "smart" and "in the know" we can all come off as sounding pretty foolish.

Not sure what you are going to post but I was responding to Cutie and she was talking about National founding dates not founding dates at Bama.
