I don't think anyone said each house was equal only that they were all great. I have to agree. Every sorority at Bama is awesome and while they are all a little different there is not a single bad sorority.
Ole Miss needs to work on reading comprehension.

so you're basically admitting that even with requested recs, good grades , but no "connections" a poor girl has no chance and is being "unrealistic" for the "higher tier" houses. How sad. It would be interesting to see statistics on how many pledges per pledge class in those houses did not have "connections". And by chance, are those supposed to be "Bama" connections?

I think what the below posters were saying, is that even if you look fabulous on paper with glowing recs, good grades, and activities, and beautiful to boot, if you don't know the women in the house, havent gone to panhellenic weekend or met actives prior to recruitment, it can be difficult to get a bid to the most coveted houses. All the houses have their ideal pcs picked out in spring

I love how people that don't even go to our school think they know what's going on. We don't have a new row or an old row for sororities. If you knew anything about our school and history you would know that is only a fraternity thing. Next time you are our VISITING our beautiful campus, please take time to visit our historic bldgs and learn when each sorority was colonized and established. You may be surprised to learn those that you consider New Row are actually some of the oldest and best established on our lovely campus. Please don't start this ridiculous "rumor" again! Those of us beyond our freshman year find it just silly. Remember,Old Row refers to the fraternity homes that were first established in Alabama, they too have changed hands many times. Elitism is out of fashion with our sororities. Bless your little heart
