Not hardly. The gold & silver awards are not listed in GPA order - it is alphabetical. Obviously someone trying to skew results again. Pathetic. Just like AOII being the #1 sorority on campus. What a frigging joke. Really!!

like the Old Row comment below. There is no OLD ROW for SORORITIES. They all sit on the same street which is a horseshoe. Get over it. Alums laugh at you all. Old Row referred to the geographical separation of the fraternity houses in the 1970's and 1980's. It has always been an indication of the differences in FRATERNITIES - not sororities. I understand the Phi Mus started this crap. Figures.

Greek awards are SELF RANKING awards. The houses fill them out themselves. STOP pretending. Say something positive if you have it, but just self-ranking on a form doesn't cut it for anyone familiar with the system. So there A Phi.

Greek Excellence Awards are based on objective criteria and are a big deal. Work hard and you're sorority might be Gold or Presidential one day. This is a very high award at Bama.

Here's the real truth, straight from the UA Greek life webpage, about the Greek Excellence Awards.

"The Greek Excellence Awards Program recognizes those chapters that excel in all areas of chapter management and operations. The awards program is based on a chapter self-assessment that measurers performance in the following areas: Leadership Development, Scholarship, Chapter Operations, Philanthropy and Service, and Risk Management and Values. Please note that the Greek Excellence program is NOT a chapter ranking system. It is a recognition program that awards those chapters based on the percentage of points they achieve on the Greek Excellence application."

Therefore, while the criteria are great ways to judge a chapter, the chapter is judging itself. Scholarship is obviously objective due to GPAs, but chapters can pad their other rankings to make themselves look better.

Hey there! Just wanted to say thank you for having us UF greeks over at UA! I had a wonderful time;the band parties, experiencing the Alabama way of tailgating, and meeting all of the kind and hospitable Tide fans! (and my classy-fabulous Alabama sisters of course!) If we ever host an AL vs UF game, please roadtrip on over and visit! :)
