I agree rankings are stupid and subjective (i.e. everyone has an opinion). Thats why posting the objective Greek Excellence "Awards" and GPAs is so important.

Those rankings are somewhat out of line for example Chi O down at 13 is crazy and I really don't see Kappa as high as four. I do however agree with DZ at six of seven just a much as Pi Phi which is also a great sorority. Some people just like living in the past. Either way all sororities at BAMA are great and I hope everyone loves their new houses.

Two weeks prior to recruitment, after our registration had been paid and countless hours spent seeking recommendations and making preparations and purchases, a book was received stating suggested GPAs. These lovely girls are more than a GPA number. They had community involvement, leadership, athletic ability, talents, tons of personality and fun, but all that was overlooked because of a GPA. A number is not the only measuring stick for a young ladies worth and success. These ladies could have contributed so much given the opportunity. I hope you have some good recruits, but did you ever miss an oppotunity over looking the others. You could have saved us all alot of time, expense, and hearache by being upfront and honest that no one below a 3.0 would even be considered

#1540by: that is the question
Did they opt out of invites that weren't from the sorority "of their dreams". My dd went through last year with a stellar GPA (4.2) and lots of hs activities, and she is very attractive, BUT she is VERY shy and didn't get lots of recs. She was a legacy and thought she could get by on that and grades. Well, her shyness and lack of recs really got her during rush and she ended up getting dropped by her favs (including my former chapter). In the end she decided to go with a house that wasn't on her "ideal" choices list and has been happy as can be with her decision. You have to realize that with so many girls going through that it takes the WHOLE package...recs, connections, personality, appearance, and grades to be at the tops of the lists for invites back.
