Everyone will tell you that it is hard to get into a sorority at Bama. Be yourself. Can't emphasize that enough. There are fourteen excellent choices on this page, and one of them is waiting to be your home. Go in with an open mind. They're hard at work getting ready to meet you, and they are a little nervous too. They want you to like them as much as you want them to like you. You will hear again and again to MAXIMIZE YOUR OPTIONS. That is the ONLY advice you should follow. On bid day, you want to be able to say that you did it and it worked, not that you didn't and it ended sadly. The Bama system is set up for success, and I am crossing my fingers that you'll be my sister.

Great post Greek Girl, my daughter is going thru rush at Bama in a few days and I am probably more nervous than her. I don't think she has a preference and I am sure she will keep and open mind. Thanks for the great advice about keeping all your options open and good luck to you and your sorority with this years recruitment.

Dear BamaDad- Bless your heart! Do you pour over all of the sniping and griping and wonder what is in store for your daughter? Obviously, we are proud of who we are, but we sometimes lose sight of being a real community when it comes to what we say in a public forum. Tell your daughter to take some notes after each day, and to share them with NO ONE but perhaps you and mom. It will help her remember details and can be fun to look back on. I pledged at another college, but two sisters survived Bama Rush and were happy with different houses. Neither of them were mine, but they are happy with the choices they made. Keep posting and let me know where she pledges. She may be that Bama sister I've been hoping for!

Greek Girl, Don't worry I don't think negatively about Bama sororities because of this board actually if you look at some of the other school''s boards they are much harsher than Bama's. I will be sure to pass on your advice to my daughter and will post next week to let you know how things are going for her.

Dear Bama Dad- You aren't kidding about some of the other schools! I thought about posting a "y'all behave" a few times, but figured that they'd unite and lambast me. Hopefully, they understand that they're accumulating a ton of 1s in the class category. Have a great time moving your daughter in, and send along some anonymous updates next week. All the Best! Bama Dad- When Puke(how vulgar is that name, hmm?) is a parent he will understand. My parents were wrecks all three times for us. And we all went to college out of state, in the SEC, so you're understandably tense. It's part of your loving us, and not everyone is lucky enough to have a family that is that supportive. I guess Puke missed the whole "parents give you roots and wings" message. Anyway, on a brighter note- how was your daughter's first day?
