I don't go to UA, but I have a question - is The Machine still a thing?

It seems like students at most colleges think student government is lame or irrelevant - so why is it considered important (or is it?) here?

Also are any houses considered particularly influential in it? Or is it more an alumni thing?

Just curious because I read an article. Thanks for any education you can provide.

It's not nearly as important as it used to be. Machine members no longer go on to become senators and governors, just doctors and lawyers.
