rush
by: Out of stateThe spring will be my first semester at alabama. I'm definitely gonna join a fraternity, but I'm out of state and don't really know anybody. I understand that at least for the fall that kids get rushed in the summer. Would it be worth joining a fraternity in the spring, or should I just get to try to know brothers and join in the fall? Any advice/input?

I would wait and join in the fall. Generally only the smaller fraternities rush in the Spring, which is fine and you may find your home in one of those houses, but you would have more options if you waited. You could use your spring semester to network and meet people, and then you would have a leg up. You can also attend rushee events in the Spring and months and some in the summer and get your bid then.

My boyfriend had bids at 6 houses even 2 from old row.
He went with a middle row house because the guys are real, fun and nice.
