rushing

Is it alright if I don't receive a bid from a fraternity before I arrive on campus, also it says on the IFC website to email the recruitment chairs from the fraternities I am interested in, but I am from out of state and have no idea what fraternity I want to join, so should I just email every fraternity recruitment chair or what?

will still be houses giving out bids when you get here. And yes, email the rush chairs of houses you're interested in

If you really have no connection to any fraternities then I suggest studying up on them and making a list of 5 that you think you'd like. You should email those chairs. They'll be more than happy to tell you about rush opportunities.
