Old vs New frats
by: lollypop1206If you're looking for a frat filled with decent guys, guys who are athletic, pretty smart and fun (but not in a cruel way), what houses would you target? Specifically, I have concerns about Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Kappa Alpha, Pi Kappa Alpha. I also see Alpha Tau Omega, Zeta Beta Tau, Phi Sigma Kappa and Alpha Kappa Lambda have recent hazing violations. And what the heck is the Farmhouse? I'm a parent-- please be gentle!

Well if you are looking for a house of guys that our beer buddies from small town Alabama then old row houses are for you. That is what it really boils down to as certain houses recruit and cater to certain areas of Alabama.
My advice is find a house that you will find friends and brothers that you will enjoy 4 years with them. I would also suggest since you are in school to look for houses that are at the top of the grades list such as ATO, Phi Psi and Sig Ep as examples.

SigEp's substance-free Residential Learning Center® at the University of Alabama is certainly a cleaner and smell nicer than the average campus "frat house" regularly used for parties, debauchery and fornication. A clean house is more desirable for hosting faculty, friends, and parents. SigEp's substance-free facility provides a very conducive environment for doing what students go to college to do.
