So I have read on a couple of different sites that it is bad to wear a watch during recruitment because it makes you look uninterested. Is this true or does it not matter?

it doesn't matter. As long as your outfit and accessories match you're fine. If you wear a watch, you shouldn't be looking at it while you're in the house or talking to an active. It can be perceived as you being uninterested.
