recs

If you are going to contact a recent alum for a rec here is some advice:
1. If you e-mail her, and she responds, you better respond to her within 48 hours unless you have been kidnapped and are now on the North Pole.
2. If she wants to meet you, meet her, don't make up some dumb excuse... make time.
3. Don't ever say that you've decided you no longer need a rec for her sorority because you've decided that "you like other houses more" just don't, she will tell other alums in other chapters you said this. You will get dropped, fast.
4. Be on time, don't chew gum, and look presentable.
5. Write a hand-written thank you note on nice, personalized stationery.

YES! Panhel wants to see you try to get your own with your own connections first, THEN u go to them or local alum chapter. And if they are nice enough to offer, be ready with your info, pictures, postage, etc... They shouldn't have to do the work 4 u. It is like a job interview, don't apply if u are too lazy to show interest!!
