YOU DON’T REALLY GET TO CHOOSE.
You meet the girls, they decide if you fit, and if not they drop you. That goes on each round. Then on the last day, you pick between the one or two you have left.

I think you are missing the point of the Op. all this ranking makes a PNM feel like they should pick their top houses now, and like they have to walk on campus and rank a house first and that’s where they go. It’s not true and not possible. Most girls will go in and may love a house they have no chance with for whatever reasons. Don’t have a favorite until the end.

That's why we tell pnms to follow all houses too, because a house you didn't even think about may become your top house when you get into rush.

PMNs have little say in recruitment. Top house members work hard to lobby others to vote/highly rank their fav’s that have grades. They do review PMNs before rush and do create a focus list of girls they want. You have to really make an impression to be added to that list. If you are not super connecting, you may squeak into the next round, but essentially, they are going through the motions and you will be cut.

It's so hard on both sides. Yes, you may get dropped from houses you thought you really wanted, but keep an open mind. And on the other side it stinks when we drop girls that a sister really wanted for whatever reason. And it also stinks when a pnm you really liked you find out didn't like your house. It's so hard to not take it personally, but it some cases it may have just been the girl you spoke to that round and you would have gotten along with everyone else in the house and there were girls that wanted you.
