Op is right. It is basically top half feeds to bottom half.

Sororities are more social than academic. The funnel reflects this. Don't get me wrong, Agd and Piphi get points for great grades but a lot of people who join want a good social life.

I think a funnel is not standard top and bottom it’s more like by type of house . For example I did not like any or house besides kd and ddd. My top was nr. Now for type of house yes there is a funnel say zta - aphi - gphi . As for social EVERY sorority has swaps and date parties ALL of them . The grade part is a bonus for the houses. Most houses have study hours and plans in place of a girl fails or goes below a certain grade in a semester. Although some would like to believe college is a big party - the goal is to graduate with a degree .
