Rushing a sorority late 20s

If you are going to college for the first time can you rush at an older age?

Yes, technically, but why would you want to? Who would be your peer group? Everyone would be much more immature than you; your new member class would be 18 year olds just out of high school, the sophs and juniors already have their friend groups, the seniors who are only 21 and 22 do not participate much any more, and some of the chapter alumnae advisors would be younger than you. Can you see yourself at mixers and socials with boys 10 years younger than you? Plus, you would not really be desired by the sororities for those reasons.

Yes, you need to find your group to socialize with in college, but a group of kids so much younger is hardly a good fit. You would have far more in common with other older undergrads and even graduate students at your age.

I agree with the above post. If you were 20 I would say ok, but any age older than that I would say there are other ways to become involved and make friends that would suit where you are in your life. I'm 21 and at this point I really do bare minimum with my sorority.
