recommendation letters
by: lettersThe UA panhellenic site states that Phi Mu won't accept rec letters, but do alumni still find a way to introduce members to the chapter?

I am a PM alum, not Bama, and future PNM had asked me for a letter when the time comes. I know the national policy but also don't want her to be a disadvantage if there was a way to send a letter/intro and other PNMs are doing it despite the info on the UA panhellenic site. I don't have connections at Alabama.

You could send a letter of introduction I suppose, but the best chance is for her to meet one of the girls beforehand. A letter of any kind from a different chapter won’t really help her. If she visits campus, her area recruiter can set up a visit with the house representative if she requests a Greek tour. It’s the reason PM did away with recs. At the huge southern chapters they would get upwards of 5000 a year and they could drop a fabulous OOR girl before they even met her because she didn’t have a rec.
