rec letters and emails

I already have several alumni who have said they would right me red letters to the fraternity I'm intent on joining, including my dad. What I would like to know is when do I need to get these letters in by next year? Also what should my email be like?

aren't really necessary for fraternities. It only really matters if you're a legacy, but then again being one isn't a complete guarantee. I would check the IFC website on what to do with them. Also get your dad to check with the local chapter or the national website to see where to send them.
