The machine is a coalition of 28 fraternities and sororities that decide (by requiring chapters and members to vote the way they want) almost all the student offices, homecoming court, etc. on campus. Anything that is put to a student vote on campus is controlled by the machine because of their huge voting block that predetermines candidates and who to vote for. The machine is basically controlled by OR fraternities. OR sororities are also involved but it's the guys that still control and make the decisions. Many State and local politicians are ex-members of the machine so the organization has power in State politics as well. This is not unlike many "secret societies" as Ivy League schools.
Sororities that are members of the machine: AXO, ADP, AGD, AOP, XO, DDD, DZ, KD, KKG, PM, PBP, ZTA
Sororities that are NOT a part of the machine: Aphi, Gphi, Theta, SK (some of these chapters have Nationals that absolutely forbid them to be a part of any organization where women aren't leading it)
Fraternities in the machine: Beta, DChi, DKE, DTD, KappaSig, LXA, PhiDelt, Fiji, PKA, PiKapp, SAE, Sig Chi, SN, Theta Chi, ZBT

This is so inaccurate. Most members of chapter that are affiliated with it aren't told what other chapters are part of it, but enough of my friends are involved in SGA that I can see multiple errors in your list. Additionally, no one forces their members to vote any particular way, they're just encouraged to participate in elections (which most non-greek students don't even care enough to vote in), and tell us a bit about each candidate running for a major position at chapter.

Chapters are asked to vote for the candidate endorsed by the machine. Why wouldn’t they? That person will be pro-Greek. No one forces you, it’s in your interest. That’s how elections work in general.
For those outside of college…If you work in a trade represented by a union, do you vote for the democrat who supports the union? Does the union let you know who that candidate is and ask you to vote that way? This happens all over the place in elections.

Union bosses have historically been connected to the mob and are known for bullying people into voting for a specific candidate. I think you are right, it’s exactly like the Machine.

The Machine is the reason black sororities and fraternities can’t get a tailgate spot on the quad or get good, reserved block seating at home football games.
The Machine advocates for the interests of WHITE, Southern houses on campus.

GPhi is 100% in the machine now and DG was left off both categories in that list and they’re def in too. Theta is now the only hold out and they don’t GAF about SK.

OR fraternities control the Machine. The OR sorority houses were invited to jump in to get their member’s vote. Don’t be stupid. The good old boys are still running the show.
