Can someone explain swaps and darties?

by: question

This may be a dumb question but can someone explain swaps and darties? Are swaps only for freshmen? Thanks

A swap is between one sorority and one fraternity. They are just about weekly in the fall. They have a theme and you dress up. Mostly for the freshmen in those two groups but all members can go. Day party = darty held by a fraternity in the spring that is open to mostly everyone. Also has a theme but you don't dress for the theme necessarily and it is the same theme every year.

most swaps are freshman only but there normally are a few full house swaps too. swaps are basically a way for the freshman pcs to meet each other and have fun without the sorority worrying about them getting in trouble. darties are just daytime frat parties

Thanks everyone. So date parties are different from these, right? Can someone explain what those are and how many?

Are you writing a book? When a sorority hosts a date party, each member brings someone of their choosing. They are not nearly as frequent as swaps. Okay?
