I think they meant that the chapters being bashed on here aren’t at the bottom for retention

Exactly which is why I can tell both of these chapters “rebrands” on here are self promoting.

This is why they cannot reasonable claim a top rank until they show some improvement in their numbers also tops do not do snaps or COB!

Please remember that the more open a house is to taking OOS members, the bigger risk they take that the member will not stay at UA for 4 years.

Houses that take more OOS (and especially OOR) members generally have slightly lower “retention rates.” The members left the school, not just the house.

Don’t overly punish houses for being open to more OOS members!

I’ve seen a few freshman who’ve transferred to different schools from Theta where it’s a top chapter which could have caused a bigger drop in numbers

I think they also really struggled academically in the fall which may have caused some drops, but I know they brought grades back up now so idk

Just a reminder every house graduates anywhere from 5-10 or even 15 girls in December so not every number is a drop

Nursing school also counts for some girls. Same with student teaching and study abroad. Some sororities count them as inactive and some don’t.

It’s pretty obvious that most chapters lose 10-20 members through normal attrition - transfers, early graduations, a few resignations for financial or other issues.

But when certain chapters are losing A TON more (25, 30, 70!!!) there is a sisterhood problem.

aphi nationals actually requires their chapters to make as much room for cob as possible. So they’re def more likely to have a drop in actives regardless of actual drops

For all the people coming on calling themselves top you can’t be if you’re at the bottom for these numbers

So are these just net change numbers? If so, they really don't show retention. Someone could have 25 drops and then do 20 COBs and look like they only lost 5 members.

We know what happened to Aphi, but seriously, what's up with Theta?

By: Change

E.g. Aphi had 412 members after fall bid day and had 292 members before they got 50 new members via COB in the spring … so lost way more than 70 members. There is a difference of 120 between fall and spring. Some graduated but that were just a few.

OP should have considered these differences for ALL sororities tbh.

Their PC numbers vs PC numbers of the other chapters here

150 vs ~115 fall 20

166 vs ~ 110/115 fall 19
