basically- yes and no.
hbo max wants to do a docuseries on bama rush and some producers have been reaching out to incoming freshman to cast them and try to film in hometowns in the spring.
but the show is extremely unlikely to actually happen. panhellenic doesn't want all the press and attention, especially last year with bama rush tok and how much media attention they were getting. pnms last year were specifically told not to interact with press on campus.
if a show was to be filmed, they would have to have permission and cooperation from the school and panhellenic, neither of which they would get. incoming freshman girls have also been warned to stay away from being involved with it since it is a bad look.

No, it would def not be cool. Every chapter, every member, every pnm is going to be made to look bad because that is what the producers need to do to make money on it. They will invent and stir controversy so they can have their big selling point. You can bet they already have their narrative written and just need some scenery and interviews to fill in their spin. It will be designed to paint the Greek system and the school in the worst light possible. There would be nothing to gain for the school or students but everything to lose.

No clue if it will actually happen but I am an active and was dmed about being a part of it (I’m obviously not going to be). And like I have no clue how they found me lol bc I don’t post on tiktok or anything but yeah. Looked up the producer and director’s names and they checked out. UA/Panhellenic is never going to give them permission but I guess they could somehow produce it without using UA’s name. Idk.

they don't need permission to use UA's name or to interview adults. Its a free world. Even if they cannot get in and film inside houses they can still make a series from the outside looking in.

No, they can't film from the outside looking in without official permission and cooperation from the school. Permits, location agreements, grounds use, final script review, etc. Also appropriating someone's image to make money is against the law, so filming people for commercial purposes without their permission is a huge industry no no.

It's not a free world. You sound like 12 year old.

I’ve been told they’re planting some moles. Some of the “incoming freshman” are actually 23-25 and will be there to stir the pot.

No, troll. You have to be an enrolled student to participate in recruitment and all that is verified in many ways, so no luck this time troll.

No BS and the documentary won’t only be filmed at UA. You ladies aren’t as special as you think you are.

It's unimaginable that any school would allow filming anywhere on their campus for such a thing, or that any sorority would give permission either because no nationals are going to allow it so that's that. Not to mention the people who would sue everyone involved for breach of privacy. The whole idea is sketch af.

Not to mention that freshmen are underage and parents would have to give permission.

Good things it’s not up to any student, sorority or parent. It’s up to the Division of Strategic Communications. It’s as simple as that. Anyone who doesn’t sign a release will be blurred. Pretty simple. They’re not asking any 17 year olds either. All of the PNM will be recruited for the show. Someone from a top tier also may be in on it.

Just proves who's on here. People have so many motives, and a lot of them are just here for as big a $hit show as they can get.

You can’t film formal sorority recruitment. Everything takes place inside of chapter houses and cameras would never be allowed to enter that. No filmmaker would be able to work with the constraints. Finally, you would have to actually have enough interest to even have such a project.
The fact that there has never been enough interest to create anything up until now is your answer.
MTV had sorority life and fraternity life shows. Remember those? Neither does anyone else.
There was a documentary also done I believe at Ole Miss in the 1980s. Remember that? Neither does anyone else.

All you will see is the usual postings on YouTube and such by the usual freshmen- which will end sometime around sophomore year, if not earlier. Why? Because no one watches them.

People are already tired of sorority YouTubers and influencers. As for a documentary- anything they could try to do would be very very uninteresting except to show what they could from the street.

Yawn.

No worries. It won’t happen and no one is going to care or miss it…

Maybe you might wake up by 10 a.m. watching a documentary and wonder about the details you slept on 🫥🫢.
