Difference between regular frats and Jefferson

by: frats

Can someone explain the difference between the regular frats and Jefferson frats? Is Jefferson just like "new row"?

Physical houses aren’t as massive usually have around 80-120 members vs 100-160

Houses on University are not "regular" frats-they're fraternities with a house on University Blvd.
-They have a bigger house.
-tend to have more members.
-dues cost more but doesn't correlated.

That's about it. There are houses older on Jefferson, and houses younger on University. There are houses with great influence on Jefferson, and low influence on University. A geographic location, in this situation, doesn't really determine much, unless you overthink it.

Also-if you think a University Blvd. house is a "Regular frat," you ought consider what 97% of the nations Greek life looks like. They're decadent mansions built out of pride.

University houses typically have more history, money, and members. Both are great options, but typically University houses have better parties because they are more selective with their guys and have more money.

More history? Phi Psi was the creepiest house on campus before they got their new house. Like sororities would their new girls not to go there and there were VERY legitimate reasons behind that.

Ehhh, sorta kinda. Back before the older houses were torn down in front of Bryant Denny, just because a fraternity house was on University boulevard didn't mean it was an old row house.

There is no shame in being in one or partying with them. It's the way of campus small frats you need to avoid

It’s mostly a location thing. The Jefferson houses that have additions/ renovations are just as big/nice as Sigma Nu, Phi Gam, Sig Ep, and maybe Beta’s house

You can say what you like about Phi Psi but they have about the dopest house on campus.
That house is the epitome of Southern Greek life

honestly I consider Jefferson legitimate frats here, just not the most desirable ones but still not embarrassing to be in. Kinda the frat version of DZ or aopi. The bus hub houses on the other hand...

This is what people don’t understand. You have a couple houses on Jefferson with far more political and campus influence than say, Phi Psi, ATO or Sig Ep.
