Alabama Girls Need to Consider Out of State Schools

by:

There’s so many intelligent girls from well to do families in Alabama who end up at Bama or Auburn for the sake of tradition. Many of these girls could get into much better schools and their parents can afford the tuition no problem. 3 girls from Fairhope went to SMU last year and they all pledged kkg. There’s plenty of girls from Montgomery and Birmingham/Mountain Brook who could do the same.

who cares? if they want to go to bama or auburn that is their choice

choosing a college based on family tradition is fine. some people want to carry the legacy on

I'm sure if they really wanted to, they would choose somewhere else

most irrelevant post on gr ever. why do you care? people choose the college they want to go to. if someone wants to come to here or go to auburn because they want to follow a family tradition, that is their own business and a legitimate reason to go to that college.

you thinking that your opinion matters is messed up

You’re obviously a fangirl from fairhope, because if you actually knew the girls in smu kappa, you’d know that there are also a few girls from mountain brook in each of their pc’s, along with girls from nashville, atlanta, charlotte, etc. They even have girls from tuscaloosa and mobile (proper).

Besides, except for sae, no one at smu really actually likes kappa... They’re kind of like smu’s equivalent of bama kd / texas pi phi. You know, the one chapter with a whole lot of history and old money girls, who happen to be super uninvolved, not as pretty as the other top houses and mix with one set frat.

Top pnms at smu go pi phi then theta.

this is so true Alabama in general and it's schools Auburn and Alabama are the subject of ridicule and laughter in ALL states outside Alabama. If you are going to stay in Alabama I guess it doesn't matter but both of those glorified high schools just elicit laughter and ridicule outside of Alabama.

If alabama and aubutn are jokes OOS, why is there record out of state enrollment at both of those schools? You must not know that Alabama has more national merit finalist on campus than any other college in the country.

SMU isn’t a great school either...maybe try the expensive DC and NYC schools, University of Michigan or Northwestern! Or UNC/Duke if you wanna stay in the South. Those are the kinds of schools the girls you’re talking about COULD go to but it’s THEIR choice. That’s awesome if they’re continuing their family tradition!

So, tbh I came to Alabama for the football, greek life, warmer weather, and parties. Shallow - yep and I own it. I'm from the north and face ridicule from a lot of people because they say not so nice things about Alabama the state, and say even a rock can get in here. Sometimes it hurts my feelings, but not too much as I'm having a great time and because I'm not a rock - I'm basically going here for free.

then why are people flocking to Bama and Auburn from OOS? The state has 2 great colleges why would in state freshman go anywhere else especially if they get in state tuition and scholarships? you meet people from all over the nation and you still have a core group you know from various cities. this comment makes zero sense

Why can’t people just make the decision to go to the school that’s the best fit for them? Are you paying for it?

By: This is dumb.
