How does a snap bid work?

No not anyone can do cob. If you got a bid on bid day you’re bound to that bid for one year. So no cob until after the next formal recruitment.

Technically anyone who didn't get a bid can participate in COB (whether they dropped out, got dropped by all houses, or didn't participate in recruitment)
But the chances of being invited to COB without connections are so slim that you are way better off accepting any bid from formal recruitment

So if a snap bid isn’t common, what about COB? When would the person rushing need to drop or be dropped in order to quality for COB?
