What round are legacies dropped? Like, am I safe now at my legacy house?

depends on the chapter. some have a policy that if legacies come to pref you are at the top of their bid list, but not all do that. if so, this might be the round they drop you because otherwise they are almost definitely giving you a bid. but everyone does it different and a lot of legacy policies changed recently.

Depends on the house. An increasing # of sororities are no longer giving special consideration to legacies.

So far AOPi, APhi, DG, and Theta are no longer giving special treatment to legacies. Possibly KD as well, but I'm not sure.

If you make it to pref and are a legacy, my house has to put you at the top of the bid list. Before then you’re not safe.

Also, sometimes the policies only apply to in-house legacies

Can you tell me the houses you know? Like, I’ve been told that XO keeps legacies through this round and then drops, but that the other houses like alpha chi, AOPi, dg, and phi Mu drop their legacies after philanthropy round. Does anyone know most of the policies?

Dg is no longer recognizing legacy status in recruitment

I am a Phi Mu legacy and they kept me though sisterhood but I didn't get them back for pref. I would not have fit in there at all and it worked out fo the best.

They do recognize legacies- but legacies no longer receive special treatment on the bid list.

My house gives automatic invites to round 2 and legacies go to the top of the bid list at prefs. A lot are dropped after round 2.

I hear KD and ZTA are changing legacy policies.

AOPi, APhi, DG, and Theta are no longer giving preference to legacies.

KD and ZTA are likely following suit.

I think more sororities are likely to follow as time goes on.

Typically legacies are dropped after the first required invitational round. It’s not fair to string them along if you don’t think they are good fit for your chapter and wouldn’t make it on your bid list.

Was told ddd nationally stopped giving legacies the top of the bid list preference and gave the chapters their own choice where to rank them on the bid lists.

DDD has had this in place for a while. Their national legacy policy is to let each chapter decide their own legacy policy.
