Phi Mu with harsh cuts?
by: hellooooooive read on here that phi mu cuts a lot of girls first round? I was actually surprised to get them back. do y'all have any idea what they will be taking into consideration most before making the next round of cuts? I felt like my convos with the girls went well but I don't wanna get my hopes up lol

We go from 2000 PNMs to 200 for a pledge class. So yeah, all cuts are gonna be “harsh”. Like wtf does it even mean when y’all say “harsh cuts”. We all have to cut the same minimum amount of girls each round. Some choose to cut more but hey, the results are the same. 2000 to 200. Keep that in mind.

that you don't even go to school here or have anything to do with recruitment. all houses are assigned a number that they can invite back by panhellenic. the most desired houses have to cut the most because they have to invite fewer than the less desired houses.

Ok but at the end of the day we all for the most part get somewhere around 200 new members, correct? We all are going to the same place. We all at some point will be cutting 1800ish girls. There will only be 200ish new XYZs running home (lol well not running this year). We all cut 90% of the PNMs that sign up for recruitment.

Houses that have higher “return rates” in past years generally cut more pnms from round to round. This is because more pnms traditionally rank them high enough to keep the connection going. If a house invites somebody but that person has the house low enough that they don’t have enough room on the card, then the inviting house takes a hit on their return rate. So the most desired houses have to cut the most, especially in the early rounds. If you are hearing a house made harsh cuts, this is what they probably mean. It also tells you all which houses have been in the most demand over the past couple of years.
