does a computer pick you during the cutting process?

After IWT rounds all the houses go into membership selection. The girls who are being dropped will be read out loud and you can fight for them. Doesn’t always work but sometimes it does. Computers aggregate the data based on how well you were voted, nothing else.

It definitely doesn’t work like that in every house, my house doesn’t do the whole chapter gathering and fighting for certain girls. We only do that before the bid list. Before that, it’s based on who you talked to voting in the computer

No, a computer does not do the cutting. Chapters will be given “release numbers” based on their historical rush performance. They will submit a list of PNM’s for release based on the computer program’s recommended cut number for that round. Whether everyone in the chapter knows who is on the release list or just the rush team / Exec board depends on each sorority’s own membership selection process.

Then the computer creates each PNM’s party list for the next round based on pnm rankings + the chapters who invited them back. If more chapters invited the pnm back than there are parties in the next round, the PNM’s rankings come into play.

Exactly. This is why some cuts at some houses seem more “harsh” than others. It’s all designed to ensure that each house has the optimal number of pnms at each event each round. It is also why some houses will keep pnms around much longer than others and have more parties/events as the rounds progress. The most in demand houses will have fewer events in the later rounds because they have a better yield or hit rate than others.

If the audio wasn’t working when you were at a house and you basically could not communicate with them at all, does that pretty much mean you’re cut?
