Legacy

I’m a legacy to an old row house and I feel like they definitely only invited me back because legacy. They weren’t really interested in me and the convo was weird and kind of uncomfortable at times. My mom is SET on me going there. What is the likelihood of me getting invited back another round and how can I convince to let me still rush even if they drop me lol

Tell your mom that this is your college experience, not hers. You’re a big girl now and your mom no longer makes the decisions for you. Sit her down and explain that this time is about YOU. She had her time in college. Plenty of girls before you have made the mistake of rushing their legacy house solely because their mama wanted them to and plenty will make that mistake after you. They’ve all regretted it. If your hearts not there, your hearts not there! That’s totally fine. Good luck!

I’m in the same situation. I’m legacy at AXO and my sister just graduated last year. I’m enjoying XO, alpha gam and ZTA. I feel like my family would be so upset if I don’t go axo. Especially if I got another old row sorority that’s not alpha chi.

My legacy house was the only old row that invited me back. Which my mom was like devastated about only 1 row but thrilled about it being that house. I had recs for every house and great gpa, in state, some connections. Which I feel like just tells me old row isn’t the place for me. But that’s like unacceptable to my family so idk if they’ll even let me rush of legacy house drops me

Some legacies got cut so they liked you. You should go where you feel best though- it can't be the same since your Mom was there and you are two different people! Do your own thing! She probably won't mind in the end and if she does that is very unfair.
