Being Cut.
by: pnm
I know a lot of us are discouraged about the huge amount of cuts today, but please remember you do not want a house that doesn’t want you. If you’re joining a sorority for status or only seeking a “top” house, then you’re doing this for the wrong reasons. Rushing shouldn’t be about being in a top house, it’s about finding a home and a group of girls that you can cal family. Please don’t be upset. If you truly do not like a house you can always COB or rush another time.

It’s heartbreaking to see the amount of pnms cut from houses today. It’s like this every year because of the large amount of girls that rush. Often times girls are cut that were wanted by houses but they have to reduce their numbers and the first cut is the biggest and one where girls get releases that shouldn’t have. Just know that it will all work out the way it’s supposed to. Lots of tears today from pnms and actives both. This is the hard part that no one ever tells you about. Good luck to all.

I love to hear that! I was in the same boat when I went through recruitment. I was upset about being dropped from these houses that are highly ranked on here despite having conversations where the girls clearly showed no interest on me. It was a blessing in disguise and I found a house that I loved and that loved me. It ended up being the best experience I could have ever asked for. As cliche as it sounds, I met my future bridesmaids, the best friends ever and as the years went on, my relationships with the girls in my pledge class I didn’t know freshman year grew stronger and stronger. At the time I was upset but I promise you that it will all be worth it in the end.
